Self-Drive Car Rental Service
This document is an electronic record in terms of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made there under, including amended provisions relating to electronic records under applicable laws in India. This electronic record is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures.
This document sets out the Terms & Conditions governing the rental of self-drive vehicles from Miles and Memories Mumbai / India (“Company”, “We”, “Us”, “Our”). This document constitutes a legally binding agreement between Miles and Memories Mumbai / India and the User (“Customer”, “You”, “Your”).
These Terms & Conditions shall become effective upon your acceptance and shall govern the relationship between You and Miles and Memories Mumbai / India for the use of vehicles offered through our website, mobile application, social media platforms, WhatsApp communication channels, and any other authorized booking platform operated by the Company.
For the purpose of these Terms & Conditions, wherever the context so requires, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned to them below.

1. Definitions
1.1 Vehicle
“Vehicle” means the self-drive car provided by Miles and Memories Mumbai / India for daily rental purposes.
1.2 Rental period
“Rental Period” means the duration selected by the Customer for hiring the Vehicle on a daily basis.
1.3 Rental charges
“Rental Charges” means the amount payable by the Customer for the selected booking duration.
1.4 Refundable deposit
“Refundable Deposit” means the refundable amount collected before vehicle delivery for fuel balancing, toll usage, trip-related operational adjustments, and pending dues, if any.
1.5 Additional refundable amount
For certain premium, luxury, long-distance, extended-duration, or special-category bookings, an additional refundable amount may be applicable at the sole discretion of Miles and Memories Mumbai/India.
1.6 Permissible kilometers
“Permissible Kilometers” means the kilometer limit included in the selected package.
1.7 Additional kilometers
“Additional Kilometers” means kilometers driven beyond the included package limit, which will attract extra charges.
2. Eligibility
To rent a Vehicle, You must :
- Be at least 21 years old
- Hold a valid Indian Driving License
- Have minimum 1 year driving experience
Submit valid KYC documents including :
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Driving License
- Rental Agreement if official residential address is different
For international customers, the following may additionally be required:
- Passport
- Visa
- International Driving Permit (IDP)
Miles and Memories Mumbai / India reserves the right to reject any booking or vehicle handover at its discretion.
3. Booking of vehicles
Vehicles are available subject to availability, maintenance schedules, operational requirements, and booking approval.
All bookings must be made by the registered Customer through authorized booking channels including website, WhatsApp, social media platforms, or direct booking support.
Bookings are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Customer must provide :
Booking start and end date/time
Delivery or pickup location
Valid KYC documents
Contact details
The Company may provide chauffeur-driven service options at additional cost where applicable.
All expenses incurred during the Rental Period including parking fees, tolls, traffic challans, penalties, inter-state taxes, and violations shall be borne by the Customer.
Extension requests are subject to :
Vehicle availability
Payment clearance
Operational approval
Cancellation and modification requests shall be governed by the applicable cancellation policy communicated at the time of booking.
4. Vehicle pickup & delivery
Users can choose the following delivery modes :
On-site pickup
Home delivery
For on-site pickup, the Customer may collect the pre-booked Vehicle from the designated location after :
Identity verification
Driving License verification
Completion of required formalities
Customers are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled booking time for smooth handover.
For home delivery :
The support/fleet team may contact the Customer before delivery
Delivery timing and location shall be confirmed with the Customer
Vehicle handover may be denied if :
Original documents are not produced
Driving ability appears unsafe
Verification fails
The Customer is found under influence of alcohol, drugs or prohibited substances.
5. Vehicle handover
At the time of handover :
Vehicle condition shall be inspected
Photos/videos may be recorded
Existing scratches/damages shall be acknowledged
Fuel level shall be recorded
The Rental Period begins once the Vehicle is handed over to the Customer.
6. Usage of vehicle
The Vehicle shall only be used for lawful personal purposes.
The Vehicle shall not be used for :
Racing
Drifting
Rallying
Speed testing
Commercial transport
Illegal activities
Off-road driving
Transportation of prohibited substances
Carrying hazardous or inflammable materials
The Customer shall not :
Tamper with GPS or odometer
Modify the Vehicle
Sublet or transfer possession
Use the Vehicle outside India
Smoking, tobacco usage, narcotics, or burning substances inside the Vehicle are strictly prohibited.
Animals/pets may be restricted in certain vehicles.
7. Authorized drivers
Only the registered Customer or approved drivers may operate the Vehicle.
Any additional driver must :
Hold a valid Driving License
Meet eligibility requirements
The Customer remains fully responsible for the Vehicle during the Rental Period.
8. Fuel policy
The Vehicle shall be delivered with a specified fuel level.
The Customer must return the Vehicle with the same fuel level.
If returned with lower fuel level :
Fuel refill cost
Refueling assistance charges
may apply.
No adjustment/refund shall be provided for excess fuel filled by the Customer.
9. Rental charges & Additional payments
Additional charges may apply for :
Extra kilometers
FASTag usage
Toll charges
Parking charges
Traffic challans
Cleaning charges
Late returns
Damages
Inter-state permits/taxes
Operational recovery charges
10. Refundable deposit & adjustments
A refundable amount may be collected before Vehicle delivery for :
Fuel balancing
FASTag usage
Parking charges
Toll usage
Trip-related operational adjustments
Pending dues
For select premium, luxury, long-distance, extended-duration, or special-category bookings, an additional refundable amount may apply.
Applicable charges including :
Fuel difference
Toll usage
Parking charges
Traffic challans
Additional kilometer charges
Cleaning charges
Damage-related charges
may be adjusted against the refundable amount.
The remaining balance, if any, shall be refunded within 24-48 working hours after :
Vehicle inspection
Trip closure
Settlement of applicable dues
11. Late return policy
If the Vehicle is not returned on time :
Hourly or daily late charges may apply
Additional rental charges may apply
Future bookings may be restricted for repeated delays
Forced extensions without approval may attract additional penalties.
12. Vehicle breakdown & assistance
In case of breakdown or emergency :
Inform Miles and Memories Mumbai / India immediately
Do not abandon the Vehicle
Follow support team instructions
Roadside assistance or replacement vehicles are subject to availability.
The Company reserves the right to decide repair, towing, replacement, or operational handling procedures.
13. Traffic violations
The Customer is fully responsible for:
Speeding fines
Parking violations
Toll violations
Traffic challans
Illegal parking
Legal violations during the Rental Period
Applicable fines, penalties, towing charges, legal expenses, and operational recovery costs may be adjusted against the refundable amount.
14. Accident, damage & liability
In case of accident :
Inform the Company immediately
Share photographs/videos
Cooperate with authorities
File police complaint/FIR where required
The Customer shall be liable for damages caused due to :
Negligence
Rash driving
Drunk driving
Unauthorized usage
Violation of traffic laws
Misuse of Vehicle
The Company may recover repair costs, downtime losses, insurance excess amounts, towing expenses, and operational losses wherever applicable.
Beach driving, off-road usage, reckless driving, and prohibited usage may attract additional penalties and full liability.
15. Insurance & Liability
No insurance policy is valid as it’s for rental purposes
Insurance claims may become invalid in cases involving :
Drunk driving
Rash or negligent driving
Unauthorized driver usage
Violation of law
Policy violations
Misrepresentation of information
Miles and Memories Mumbai / India shall not be liable for :
Personal belongings left in the Vehicle
Delays caused by traffic or breakdowns
Indirect or consequential losses
Natural disasters
Government restrictions
16. Cleanliness & Maintenance
Miles and Memories Mumbai / India conducts periodical checks on vehicle performance and cleanliness standards.
Customers are expected to maintain reasonable cleanliness of the Vehicle during the Rental Period.
The following may attract cleaning, repair, restoration, or penalty charges :
Use of chewing gum, tobacco, pan, cigarettes, or smoking inside the Vehicle
Burn marks, ash, odor, spit stains, or residue
Burning of any substance inside the Vehicle
Scratches or dents
Minor scratches may attract detailing cost of the vehicle and major would attract repair costs
Broken windows or windshield
Damaged mirrors or lights
Torn or stained upholstery
Excessive mud, sand, dirt, or pet hair
Missing accessories, tools, documents, or spare wheel
Damage to keys/key fob
Tyre damage due to misuse
Mechanical or engine damage caused by negligence or accident
Charges may be adjusted against the refundable amount.
17. Theft of vehicle
In case of theft :
Inform the Company immediately
Lodge an FIR at nearest police station
Cooperate with investigation and insurance procedures
Failure to follow required procedures may result in financial liability.
18. Return conditions
The Vehicle must be returned :
In reasonably clean condition
With original keys
With accessories and documents intact
At designated return location
Charges may apply for :
Missing items
Excessive dirt
Smoke odor
Pet hair
Interior/exterior damage
Improper return location
Damage beyond normal wear and tear
19. Obligations of the user
The Customer agrees to :
Provide accurate information and valid documents
Follow all applicable traffic laws
Operate the Vehicle responsibly
Immediately report accidents, breakdowns, or unusual issues
Secure the Vehicle properly when parked
Ensure safety of passengers
The Customer shall remain responsible for all actions, violations, damages, and liabilities arising during the Rental Period.
20. Ownership of vehicle
The Vehicle always remains the sole property of Miles and Memories Mumbai / India.
The Customer only receives temporary and limited usage rights during the Rental Period.
21. Right to terminate & repossession
Miles and Memories Mumbai / India reserves the right to terminate the rental immediately and repossess the Vehicle if :
Terms are violated
Fraudulent documents are submitted
Illegal activities are detected
Vehicle misuse occurs
Payments remain overdue
The Vehicle appears abandoned or unsafe
Recovery and repossession costs may be charged to the Customer.
22. Privacy policy
Customer information may be collected for :
Verification
Security
Operational support
Legal compliance
Customer service
The Company does not sell customer personal data to third parties.
23. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed under the laws of India.
All disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts located in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
24. Arbitration
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms & Conditions may be resolved through arbitration in accordance with applicable Indian laws.
The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Mumbai, Maharashtra.

By booking or using the services of Miles and Memories Mumbai / India, You confirm that :
