The story of how Miles and Memories was born

Meet Mayank Kalal,
the brain, heart and mind behind Miles and Memories.

Before Miles and Memories became a growing self drive car rental brand in Mumbai, it was simply a feeling I carried inside me for years.

A feeling connected
To cars.
To memories.
To people.

And to someone I still silently thank every single day.

A Love beyond cars

Like many boys growing up in their early 20s,

I loved cars.

Not just the luxury.
Not just the speed.
But the emotion behind them.

For me, cars were never just machines.

They were therapy after difficult days,
They were conversations during late-night drives,
They were silence during heartbreak,
They were freedom in a city that never stops moving.

Even today, I believe somepeople don’t drive to reach places. They drive to feel alive again.

The turning point...

For years, I continued life like everyone else.

Working jobs • Managing responsibilities.
Doing what I jokingly call today:
“Corporate majduri.”

But deep down, the love for cars never left me. Then life gave me two experiences that changed everything.

During my brother’s wedding, I rented four Mercedes-Benz cars for the convoy.
At 4 AM while collecting the vehicles, I noticed smoke coming out from one bonnet and oil leaking underneath
The cars looked premium from outside… but were neglected from within.
And when I raised concern, the response was simple:

“Aap le jao… sab sahi hai.”
That moment stayed with me.

Soon after, while travelling to Surat with my family, I rented another vehicle from a local operator.
Midway through the highway, the car stalled completely because the coolant had dried up due to poor maintenance.
We were stranded in the middle of nowhere with family inside the vehicle while the host showed almost no responsibility.

And that’s when I realized something important:
Mumbai didn’t just have a car rental problem.
It had a trust problem.

Why Miles and Memories exists

People wanted experiences.
But they were receiving carelessness.

People wanted memories.
But they were receiving stress.

And somewhere during that phase,
one thought kept growing louder inside me:

“If I ever build something… I’ll build it differently.”
And in 2025, that thought became reality.
With just one car. A Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

No massive investors.
No giant office.
No shortcuts.

Just honesty, passion, and one simple promise:
No customer should ever feel cheated for trusting us.

The Promise

At Miles and Memories, we don’t believe in simply renting cars.

We believe in delivering experiences people remember.

Many rental companies secretly hope customers return cars with dents or scratches so they can charge extra money.

But our mindset is different.
We don’t pray for damage.
We pray for safe journeys.

Whether it’s:

Late-night drive

Corporate meeting

Family
Trip

Wedding convoy

Solo Adventure

Special Occasion

Weekend Getaway

Scenic Road Trip

Every customer deserves:

Well-maintained vehicle

Honest pricing & transparency

Flexible rental options

Hassle-free booking & 24 X 7 Support

The man who changed everything

Six years ago, life introduced me to someone who unknowingly shaped the foundation of everything I’m building today.

Kotian Sir.

To the world, he was the founder of a car maintenance and modification brand. But to me… He became family.

In the early 20’s, an age where most people hesitate to trust someone young and inexperienced,

Kotian Sir trusted me with responsibilities bigger than my age. He never treated me like an employee. Never.

He treated me like a younger brother. He gave me space to learn. He respected my opinions.

He trusted my management & operation decisions.

And slowly, that garage became my second home.

That place was his baby, and later it became mine too.

Every modified car, every engine sound, every customer interaction carried his passion.

And somewhere along the way, I started protecting that dream like it was my own too.

Then one day…

Everything changed.

We lost Kotian Sir in a tragic bike accident.

The tools were still there.
The cars were still parked.
But the soul of the place was gone.

And the values, passion, and love for cars he gave me never left.

A Note from the heart

Maybe that’s why Miles and Memories Mumbai feels personal. Because it is personal.

Every car in our fleet carries a piece of my story.

This journey was never walked alone.

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank my family, my friends,
and every single client who believed in this dream when it was still just an idea in my head.

You didn’t just support a business.
You supported a belief.
You supported a vision before it had shape.

And for that, I will always be grateful.

Every customer interaction carries the values Pratik bhai taught me years ago.

And even today, during quiet moments, I genuinely feel like
he’s still somewhere around this journey.

Watching.
Guiding.
Smiling.

Because what started as his passion… became my purpose.

And today, through Miles and Memories Mumbai,
we continue building that legacy together.

And once again, I would like to thank, Mr. Pratik Kotian, from the bottom of my heart.
Brother, you will always be loved, always remembered, and always missed.

A very special thanks to my brothers,
Patty (Pratik Bhai), and Shreyans Jain.

You’ve stood by me through every high and every low, supported me around the clock,
and been a constant pillar in this journey of building something meaningful.

This is as much your story as it is mine.

The Journey Continues…

This is not a finished story.

It never will be.

Because every day, a new journey begins.
A new memory is created.
A new trust is built.

And with every car that leaves our garage, and every customer that returns safely, I am reminded of why this all started in the first place.

We didn’t build Miles and Memories Mumbai to become the biggest.

We built it to become the most trusted.
The most honest.
The most felt.

From a garage full of dreams…
to roads full of memories…

This journey will always belong to the people who believed in it before it existed.

And to every person reading this,

If you’ve ever driven one of our cars, or are planning to…

Just know this :

You are not just a customer.
You are a part of this story.

One drive.
One memory.
One lifetime connection.
